Alex Grey/Allyson Grey

Alex and Allyson Grey are artists and co-founders of the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in New York City. Best known for paintings that “X-ray” multiple dimensions of reality, Alex's art interweaves biological anatomy with psychic/spiritual energies.  His visual meditation on the nature of consciousness has brought him worldwide recognition.

The symbol system in the paintings of Allyson Grey represent a world-view comprised of chaos, order and secret writing.  Tens of thousands of painted spectral squares reveal paradoxes of particles and waves, cells and systems, entropy and inter-reflectivity, meaning and the ineffable.  Alex and Allyson live in Brooklyn with their daughter, actress Zena Grey.
